I started full time on February 28, 1989 as the Carpet Studio warehouse manager & shortly after transitioned to the general manager for 35 years. In August, 2022, I purchased the business and became a co-owner with Jon Hammons.
I have worked in every aspect of flooring & window treatments, giving me a wealth of knowledge in this industry. I am a Hunter Douglas certified window treatment installer. I love being involved with my church & participating in many charity & community events. Love Glamping in Mears, MI, Silver Lake Sand Dunes & enjoy relaxing on the weekends during our summer months.
The wife keeps me going, we have 4 boys, 5 grand children, 3 dogs and am absolutely blessed to have the life I do.
Owner/Contract Specialist
I have been in the floor covering industry for over 35 years, most of my working life.
After a few years as an apprentice, I started my own installation business working with stores/contractors in both commercial and residential settings.
In 2012, I joined the Carpet Studio team as the commercial sales manager and estimator. I was helped tremendously with the transition by the experienced sales team as well as management. In 2022, the general manager and myself were able to come to an agreement with the retiring owner, to purchase the Carpet Studio business. This to has been, for the most part, an enjoyable challenge and quite a learning curve.
For the last 15 years, I have worked with Carpet Studio, starting full-time in 2022. Currently working as warehouse manager, after 15 years experience at other places and traveling the country to help efficiency.
When not at work, I enjoy watching sports or relaxing with my wife and son. Camping is by far our families favorite activity.
Jim has enjoyed 37 years of success in the flooring industry: retail flooring professional, retail management and then territory management for Galaxy Mills, Mohawk and Shaw Industries. He currently works as contract / tenant specialist with Carpet Studio Flooring America. Jim has lived in the Lansing area for 65 years and has been married to his best friend Angela for 40 years. His favorite things to do are vacationing in northern Michigan as much as possible, long walks, good food and spending quality time at home with his animals.

Ben has been in the floor covering industry for almost 20 years. First as a sales representative and Assistant Manager at a local competitor, then for the past 10 years as Sales Manager for Carpet Studio Flooring America. Certified as a flooring specialist and take great pleasure in working with customers, installers in store and on the job sites.
Ben is happily married to his best friend and has two children that are heavily involved in local and travel sports.
Jess has worked as a Commercial Estimator since 2016. She is responsible for all drawings, bids and activities associated with the Commercial department. When not working, she enjoys hanging out with friends and family, playing with her cats, going to the beach, is an avid reader and loves movies.
Alex has spent the last 30 years in retail sales and management in the auto industry and the last 5 years at Carpet Studio Flooring America. Alex grew up in Detroit and moved to Lansing in 1987 with wife Laura.
Married in 1998 and raised 3 beautiful children with Laura. In his spare time Alex likes taking long rides in the country, dining out and college basketball and football.
Dan began his flooring career as an Owner/Operator of a flooring store for 25 years, carpet cleaner, then installer and is now a certified journeyman. Dan has expanded his installation business into ceramic tile and hardwood flooring and is Certified as an Armstrong vinyl installer.
Currently working as an estimator for Carpet Studio Flooring America, Dan enjoys spending time with his two daughters and 5 grandchildren.
Jeannie has spent more than 28 years in the flooring design and window treatment profession. She works with walk-in clients and builders with new home builds, remodels and additions. Has experience in floor coverings, custom showers and kitchen tile work - both instore and at home! No job is too big or too small for Jeannie.
Jeannie enjoys the outdoors, her cabin on the Au-Sable River in northern Michigan, hiking, kayaking, scuba diving, and spending time with family - especially her 5 grandchildren.
Andy has installed area residential and commercial flooring for the past 18 years.
He is married with three children and serves on boards of area football and baseball. He also actively coaches local football and baseball teams.
Zac has been in the flooring trade for 4 years and plan to learn as much as I can. I take pride in the work I do and feel good at the end of the day making the project look the best it can. I spend my free time playing with my dogs and playing golf.
For the last 12 years I have installed hard surface flooring in mid-Michigan. Married, with two beautiful daughters and enjoys flyfishing. AJ takes great pride in doing excellent work and treating every home as though it's his.
